Then ABSA & FNB has just launched the right home loan products to achieve just that - without you having to save for a deposit and even 5% to 10% more to cover bond and transfer registration costs.
- ABSA
ABSA has launched the Young Professionals Home Loan campaign. First Time Home buyers up to the age of 35 can apply for up to 105% bond with a maximum purchase price of R1 500 000. This is open to Young Professionals with any 4-year degree at NQF level 8 or higher.
How the Offer works:
- A Loan to Value (LTV) of up to 105%, or in other words 100% LTV to cover purchase price which is capped at R1.5million and up to an additional 5% to cover bond and transfer registration costs;
- A 30% discount on attorney bond registration costs through an ABSA panel attorney - such as ESI Attorneys which are on ABSA's panel;
- The extra convenience of having the Attorney visit the customer to sign all home loan documents at a date, time and place which is convenient for the customer.
- ABSA will also issue a digital Takealot voucher of R5000 for the first 415 registrations, delivered post registration of the mortgage bond and redeemed online on the Takealot website.
Additional Benefits:
- The customer may download the Absa Homeowner app to help with finding a dream home, calculate affordability and / or get a Home Loan Estimator certificate before shopping for a home
- If the customer is an Absa Rewards member, they get even more benefits:
- 10% cash back on MyTelnet home connectivity products and services;
- 10% cash back on Fidelity ADT's monthly subscriptions; and,
- 1% cash back at Hirsch's on any purchase.
- FNB
FNB considers lending in excess of 100% up to a maximum of 110% loan to value (LTV).
This offering of lending in excess of a 100% LTV will be considered to the following customers:
- Income bracket R12000 per month to R299 999 per annum
- Young professionals below the age of 35. The list of professions below is what will be considered as young professionals

- Chartered Accountant
- Engineer
- Medical Doctor
